Along the Silk Roads creates different ways for audiences in Montenegro to encounter and explore Chinese culture through publications, public programmes and digital projects.
Current work includes Jade Moon Magazine, Moon Pavilion, bilingual publications and digital projects.
Founder and director
Ivana Milanović
Ivana Milanović is a Montenegrin cultural mediator and editor, and the founder and director of Along the Silk Roads – Center for Chinese Culture. She is also the founder and editor of Jade Moon Magazine.
Her work focuses on bringing Chinese history, literature and cultural traditions to general audiences through publishing, cultural programmes and public encounters. She is particularly interested in how ideas and cultural concepts can be communicated to different audiences without flattening them into familiar equivalents or detaching them from the historical and cultural settings in which they developed.
She studied Italian Language and Literature at the University of Montenegro and holds master's degrees in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation from Sapienza University of Rome and in Education for Peace, Human Rights and International Cooperation from Roma Tre University. Her study of Chinese language and culture began in Rome in 2019.
